Our children’s ministry provides an atmosphere in which every child feels loved and valued. With our teachings always geared toward the child’s age and comprehension level, we lay the foundation for having a genuine relationship with Christ. We help the child grow in knowledge and understanding of that relationship through Bible training and simple practice of Christian principles.
Our children’s ministry serves boys and girls from age 4 through sixth grade. Here are some of the programs and opportunities available to them.
Our Wednesday night children's program is designed for children in 6th grade and under. It is an exciting time for the children as they learn God's Word through weekly lessons, Bible Memory Verses, and activities. Plan to bring your child to this dynamic children's program and be sure to invite others.
The Sunday School classes we offer during the Sunday morning hour is for children in grades one through six. The Sunday School organization serves as the foundation of the children’s ministry as it seeks to reach, teach, and help boys and girls know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
This is one of the biggest and most anticipated events of the year. For three days during the week hundreds of children come together for Bible teaching, songs, crafts, recreation, new friendships, and fun that is centered around the Lord. This year, VBS is July 1 - 3, 2019 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm.

New Heights FBC Youth Group
The teenage years can be confusing, difficult, and challenging! But they can also be awesome times, rising up to New Heights! Through Sunday School classes, weekly outreach, monthly activities, annual trips, retreats, and programs, the teens at FBC are challenged and equipped to live for Christ while they are in their youth. Each year, the teens can look forward to camps, trips, outreach events, fun activities, and many opportunities to grow in God’s Word. We do everything within our power to provide the Bible-based wisdom that teens need, combined with the friendly atmosphere that teens enjoy!
Teen Sunday School starts in the Youth Center (old church auditorium) at 10am. We are studying "Transforming Truths." The inspired Word of God has the divine power to transform our lives. Too often, we hear God's Word and perhaps even memorize it, but we neglect to apply it to our lives. When we grab hold of a truth from God's Word and apply it to the very situations in which we live, we can experience its transforming power on a personal level.
Everyone wants good friends – the kind of friends who will be there for you when you really need them. Our Teen Ministry is made up of teens from every part of Broward County. The common bond is that we all want to know God personally and live out His purposes in our lives. You will find real friendships and support in the New Heights FBC Teens.
The teens are planning two missions trips this summer. The first is to Ontario, Canada to work with Missionary Kendal Wadley for a week. They will be passing out tracts, teaching children's lessons, singing, and serving in the local church and community. The second trip is a work trip to Hope Children's Home in Tampa, Florida where our teens will help work in any capacity needed and develop friendships with the children.
Some people think Christians can’t have fun! The fact is, we have more fun than anyone else!! It’s the kind of fun you can have with a clear conscience – the kind that creates good memories, hilarious moments, and awesome friendships. Visit our Photo Gallery to see some of our memories.
Each summer the teens engage in one of the most exciting events of the year, CAMP! This week, during the summer, is packed full of fun, food, and friendship but most importantly decisions are made for the Lord!
This past summer we went to Crossroads Baptist Camp July 15-20th. The theme of camp is "A Higher Call". We are praying now for the summer camp, that our teens will learn more about their higher call in in Christ. Register your teen NOW for Teen Camp.
During the year the teens will be continually active with involvement in the church. From fundraisers to youth rallies there is never a dull moment for the youth group at FBC.
College & Career
At this stage of life young adults make more pivotal decisions that affect them for the rest of their life. Many people during this phase of life choose their college, career, spouse, and even what they believe concerning God’s Word. It is our desire here at First Baptist Church to help everyone start out and stay on the right path. God has a purpose and a plan for our life, we want to be a part in helping find God’s will and next step in ones life.
Outside of our weekly bible study there are numerous activities for young adults to be involved in throughout the year. This gives them a time to make memorable moments and meet people their age and develop friendships that will last for a lifetime.

FBC Ladies Meetings
With busy schedules today keeping ladies going non-stop, it is relaxing for the Ladies of our church to come together and fellowship on a monthly basis for the Ladies Bible Study. We enjoy a great time studying the Bible led by our Pastor's wife, Mrs. Carolyn Odom. Along with the Bible study is a time of refreshments and fellowship between the ladies. The climax of the Ladies Bible Study is the Ladies Spring Banquet held each year in May. We also enjoy the Cookie Exchange at Christmas time and attending Ladies Fellowships held throughout Florida.
At First Baptist Church we welcome all men to come and join us in the multiple activities of the year. We are continually involved as a church in encouraging men of all ages and strengthening them in the admonition of the Lord. Here you will find a warm welcome and a bond of godly friendship that will last a lifetime.
Annual Golf Outing
The annual golf outing is a favorite event for men with a great swing and a good laugh. The Men's Golf Tournament is held on a Saturday in October at Grand Palms Golf and Country Club in Pembroke Pines. Its is always an encouraging time where men can enjoy the company of fellow Christians on the course and see what man is the who's who on the greens.
Father Son Breakfast
It is not about how much you can eat but how much you can hold spiritually! We always enjoy a good, hardy breakfast at the Father Son breakfast, but most of all we are given a challenge in God's Word of being a becoming man for the Lord. Come and join us and see how full the Lord will fill you!
This rugged, wilderness retreat is a absolute thrill for the men and boys of First Baptist Church. Camping out provides a great opportunity for relationship-building for Christian men as well as dads and their sons.
Men's Basketball and Flag Football
Basketball and football are great events for men of all ages to come out and compete with the bonus of great exercise. Basketball games are played regularly on Monday evenings. Flag Football games are held quarterly. Competition is never a problem and a Christian spirit is always rushing through the court and field.
You may retire from work, but you never retire from the work of the Lord. Our ministry gives senior adults a place to continue to grow in their faith and to show the wisdom they have achieved through experience. The purpose of the Silver Servants' ministry is to strengthen and encourage a community of senior adults and equip them to reach, teach, minister, and fellowship.
